Activ is proud to confirm that our Head of Training, Trish Ridley, has been appointed to represent WA at the Community Services Skills Council (Australia) review of both disability and aged care qualifications.
The review will ensure that the curriculum and content of training closely aligns to industry requirements.
Trish has worked with Activ for over 20 years and has led Activ’s registered training organisation, Activ Pathways, since its inception.
Her appointment to represent WA at the Community Services Skills Council (Australia) is a reflection of her deep understanding of disability services, and a tribute to her hard work and dedication.
During her time working in employment services, Trish highlighted the lack of appropriate certified training opportunities for people with disability. This real and recognised need sparked the development of Activ Pathways to create training programs that allowed supported employees’ skills to be formally recognised. Over time, Pathways grew to provide training to staff across the disability sector and now offers comprehensive training across a range of sectors and industries including highly demanded disability inclusion training.
“Our RTO is so important, as it ensures that we have the most capable, competent people supporting people with disability. Our customers need to have people who are skilled and professional supporting them,” said Trish.
“To our customers, Pathways provides them an opportunity that they otherwise wouldn’t get. To have their skills formally recognised is so important.”
“Our training services allow organisations outside of the disability sector to access high quality training programs that meet their needs but also help to make a life-changing difference to Western Australians with disability.”
Trish’s experience as a leader at Activ, as well as her passion for the disability services industry will greatly benefit the Community Services Skills Council. Please join us in congratulating Trish on this important appointment!
Activ Pathways provides training to disability services staff and staff from a range of other sectors including mining, construction and government. If you’re looking to upskill your staff, contact Activ Pathways on RTO@activ.asn.au!
